ETBA Summer Hike 2023

As the summer draws to a close, we’d like to extend an invitation to you before the season ends.
On the 3rd of September 2023, we invite you to join us for a relaxed hiking experience near Zürich, where you can meet new people, reconnect with old friends, exchange stories, and simply enjoy each other’s company.
Our journey will commence at Hirslanden, and we’ll embark on a scenic hike through the Witikon forest, following the tranquil path alongside the Wehrenbach stream. Our plan is to have a delightful picnic around noon (please bring your own food and drinks).
We’ve selected an easy route for this outing, covering approximately 7.5 km with an elevation gain of 150 m. The entire adventure, including the picnic break, is expected to take about 3-4 hours.
We warmly welcome everyone to this event, so feel free to bring along your family and friends. While the hike itself is complimentary, we kindly ask participants to cover their own travel expenses and food costs.
Please be aware that our hiking plans are weather-dependent. We will communicate the definitive decision whether to proceed or cancel based on weather conditions by the 1st of September 2023 at 8 pm CEST. To help us gauge the number of participants, we kindly request you to register your attendance. The registration deadline is set for the 1st of September 2023 at 7 pm CEST.

How to get there
For those using public transportation, we’ll gather at the Meeting Point of Zürich Main station at 10 am CEST (refer to the below photo for reference). From there, we’ll travel together by bus to Hirslanden.
Alternatively, if you’re arriving by car, you’ll find blue zone parking spaces near the “Kapfstrasse” bus station, where we meet at around 10:30 am CEST (indicated in yellow on the photo below). These blue zone parking spaces are available free of charge on Sundays. In case these spaces are occupied, there’s also a parking lot at Sonnenberg (please note that this option is not free).
